ZHWFFL Week 2 Recap: Chaos, Close Calls, and Early Season Power Shifts

The first two weeks of the ZHWFFL season are in the books! With buzzer-beater finishes, breakout stars, and some heartbreaking bad luck, the standings already tell a fascinating story.

Week 2 Highlights

Game of the Week: B-Dog’s Z-Dynasty vs Goff and Running
Chris squeaked out a 115.2 to 113.4 victory thanks to strong RB play from James Cook (26.0) and Saquon Barkley (16.5). Brennan got big performances from Puka Nacua (23.6) and Baker Mayfield (19.9), but ran into bad luck once again.

Mitchell Makes a Statement
4th down and…Kakaw! posted the highest score of the week (121.7), powered by Amon-Ra St. Brown (34.7), De’Von Achane (22.2), and Davante Adams (19.6). Trevor’s L7 Weenies had no answers in a 95.7 effort.

Nabers Nation
Adam’s DEI Re-hire got a 33.2 explosion from Malik Nabers to beat Dakota’s Murfstyle 104.8 to 98.1. Even Jonathan Taylor’s 28.5 couldn’t save Dakota this time.

Rough Week for JHENNY
John H. ran into the buzzsaw of Caleb’s Mystery Mustache. With Joe Burrow hurt (0.0) and Aaron Jones limited (2.3), his team stumbled to just 85.3 points. Caleb cruised behind Lamar Jackson (26.3) and CeeDee Lamb (15.7).

Standings Storylines

Top of the League

  • Caleb is the undisputed juggernaut — leading the league in points scored (224.7) and allowing the fewest (152.4).

  • Chris and Adam also sit undefeated at 2-0, setting up a marquee Week 3 clash.

Middle of the Pack

  • Dakota has scored the most points in the league (238.8) but sits at just 1-1 thanks to tough luck.

  • Mitchell is balanced and dangerous at 1-1, while Conrad, Air Raid John, and Brad hover in the middle tier.

Winless but Dangerous

  • Brennan’s Z-Dynasty has scored 224.4 points (second in the league) but has been crushed by a league-high 255.9 points against.

  • Cody is also 0-2 despite scoring respectably (206.6 PF). Both teams feel far better than their records show.

Early Struggles

  • John H. (JHENNY) has managed just 160.9 points through two weeks — lowest in the league by a wide margin. Unless Burrow gets healthy and his RBs wake up, it could be a long season.

Looking Ahead to Week 3

  • Game of the Week: Chris vs Adam (both 2-0). One undefeated streak ends.

  • The Winless Bowl: Cody vs JHENNY — someone gets their first win.

  • Bounceback Watch: Brennan faces Mitchell in a clash of high-scoring teams.

  • Upset Potential: Brad vs Conrad looks razor-thin on projections.

Final Word

Two weeks in, the ZHWFFL has already delivered close games, breakout stars, and wild swings of luck. Caleb has set the early pace, but with teams like Brennan and Dakota scoring heavily, the gap between the top and bottom isn’t as wide as the records suggest. Week 3 is shaping up to be the most pivotal yet.
